What is "Coffee Break"?

A place where women get together. They gather in the comfort and safety of a small group and take a look at what the Bible is all about. It's a place to come with questions about God, about life, about relationships. But mostly it's a place to learn and grow.

What are the requirements for attending Coffee Break?

None. You don't need to have ever studied the Bible; you don't need to know any answers; and you don't need to be a part of any church or faith. In fact, the only thing you really need is an open and inquiring mind — one that's willing to examine what the Bible says and let it rise or fall on its own merit.

Where do Coffee Break groups meet?

Almost anywhere. Most programs meet in a church because it's a good central location, and because it has a place for child care and a preschool program called Story Hour. Coffee Break began as a morning program for stay-at-home moms and other womaen not employed outside the home. However, as more and more women have become employed, many programs now have evening groups too. When child care is not a concern, homes or restaurants are also good choices.

What's the atmosphere in a Coffee Break like?

Very informal. This is a place to come and relax, make some new friends, and dare to be honest with ourselves and with others. Comfortable clothes make us comfortable, so many women wear jeans or sweats and sneakers. This is not a place to put on pious faces because it's the "proper" thing to do. This is a place to honestly discover who God is and who we are before Him.

Whom is Coffee Break for?

For women who have needs — normal, basic needs — woman who are struggling to make sense out of life. They are women who need friendship and support. Or they may need healing from feelings of emptiness, loneliness or isolation in their lives. Feelings caused by a broken or abusive relationship, economic difficulties, a poor self-image, or a spiritual void in their lives that only God can fill.

Coffee Break is for women who desire to know God — who He is and what He means in their lives. It is not limited by age or experience or any othe barrier. Meeting those basic needs through the study of the Bible will give a woman peace, joy and fulfillment.

How can I get in touch with a Coffee Break person?

Easily. Just call Marilyn at 508-234-8072 or visit the church office for more information.

Coffee Break gatherings are Tuesdays at the PSCRC from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

Story Hour is a special time for preschool children of women attending at the time of Coffee Break.
